Our Termite Inspection Toolbox
Termatrac T3i
The unique termite detection radar "Termatrac T3i" does what no other detector has ever been able to do. It sends out a radar through most common wall materials allowing our technicians to locate and track the presence of termites without the need for invasive methods like drilling holes in your walls.
It is the first and remains the only single technology device in the world that can precisely detect, locate and confirm the presence of termites without the need for physical penetration of walls, floors or ceilings, and will not disrupt and displace termite activity.
Termatrac termite detection radar signals are specially calibrated to identify and confirm the presence of termites. Termatrac is used in over 22 countries and was invented and developed in Australia.
Flir Thermal Imager ®
Our technicians use the latest technology when completing their inspections including Thermal imaging cameras.
Thermal imaging detects differentials in heat energy allowing our technicians to find termite infestations, and sub nests hidden behind walls and other surfaces. Other building issues such as leaks which would otherwise have gone undetected visually are readily observed thermally.
Tramex Moisture Encounter Meter
Termites require moist, humid conditions for survival and create a moist environment as they work and feed. That is why both Adrian and Tim carry a Moisture encounter meter with them as the presence of moisture can indicate a termite infestation.
As its name suggests, a moisture meter is used to detect levels of moisture in internal walls and floors. A higher moisture level than normal can be a good indicator of termite activity. The meter also helps our inspectors with finding leaks in walls and roofs, which could encourage termite activity.
It may come as surprise but when used in the right hands the most useful tool for a qualified termite technician is a termite tapper. A termite tapper also known a termite donger is a thin fibreglass or aluminium rod with a plastic ball at the end of it. These are tapped onto skirting boards and timber frames to detect hollowness, which is an indication of termite activity or decay.
A termite tapper is one of the most simple, but effective pieces of equipment we will use in your termite inspection. When tapping the walls, skirting boards etc Adrian and Tim will able to hear a change in tone that may alert them to possible signs of timber damage.
Inspection Cameras & Borescopes
Inspection cameras and Borescopes allow Adrian & Tim to perform detailed visual inspection of hard to reach and other wise inaccessible areas of your home and property. A long cable with a LED lights and a camera connected to a colour screen makes it possible to detect and diagnose normally inaccessible areas.
A Borescope can be used to view inside brick cavities, behind vanities and many other places which termites can be known to hide. It can also be used to view inside termite workings to check for termite activity with minimum disturbance.
