Scarcity Guide Badges of the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria
(Updated 15/11/2014)
This is not intended as a guide to values but an estimation as to the “obtainability” of badges. Some badges may be common compared to others, but worth twice the price. This may be because one is a nicer looking badge and more collectable, even though it is not as rare.
This guide has been prepared in conjunction with several collectors, but is still only designed to be used as a “guide”.
The guide gives a number from between 1 to 10 to indicate its scarcity.
10 Indicates a “Bo Derek” or “Elle McPherson”, a most desirable badge, unique or only a few exist
9 Extremely rare, probably less than 20 exist
8 Very rare, probably less than 50 exist
7 Rare, very hard to obtain
6 Very scarce badge but can be found if searched for.
5 Scarce, hard to find badge
4 Uncommon, but obtainable
3 Common badge
2 Very common badge
1 Abundant ….. like noses, everybody has one
